  STERNDRIVE RUNABOUTS AND SKI BOATS

Single Engine Runabouts all have “quirks” that may be remedied with the installation of a Permatrim.  Heavy stern drive engines and aft-transom seating arrangements both lead to slower planing and excessive bow rise.  Installing a Permatrim on the lower unit of these types of boats will significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to reach plane and will enable your boat to plane at a lower speed without falling back into the water.

Most small runabouts fall or plane around 20-23 mph.  The installation of a Permatrim allows your boat to take its planing speed down to 17 mph and to stay on plane. Besides the benefits you will see when pulling a wake boarder or a new skier, you will also find that your minimum planning speed is reduced, pounding is reduced, and your bow will not rise as much while coming onto plane.
